GLPC helps several organisations in Domestication of the SDGs
September 25, 2016

EVENT DESCRIPTION
As UN SDGs Action Awards Finalist we are happy to associate with as many willing organizations to align their strategies to the sustainable development goals and vision 2030.
We offer this for free and we are already supporting Kasese District local government to align its 5 years strategic plan to the global goals.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by 193 countries (including Uganda) as a new global agenda on 25 September 2015 and came into force officially on 01 January 2016. SDGs are a set of goals towards ending poverty, ensuring prosperity, and protecting the planet.
Although broader in scope, address root causes, are universal and comprehensive. SDGs build on the success of MDGs. All 17 goals and 169 targets matter to local government. In other words, all SDGs are applicable across all clusters, units, and departments of Kasese Municipality and Uganda as a Country.
Within this context Great Lakes Peace Center in partnership with the Kasese District Local Government we are helping several organizations in the Rwenzori region and World at large in the domestication and localizing SDGs.
